Kindergarten: Tried-and-True Homeschool Supplies for Little Learners

Embarking on the homeschool journey in kindergarten is a wonderful blessing, laying the foundation for your child’s education. The excitement is palpable, yet the prospect can be overwhelming. If you, like me, aim to be well-prepared for the upcoming year, I’ve compiled a list of materials, including kindergarten homeschool supplies, perfect for back to homeschool and back to school needs. These items have enriched our learning experience, and I hope they bring value to your journey as well. 1. Curriculum Materials: Choose a kindergarten curriculum that aligns with your educational philosophy and state requirements.
- We used and still use The Good And The Beautiful along with

- Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons
2. Books: Gather a variety of age-appropriate books for reading aloud and independent reading. Here are my son’s favorite little learners!
3. Writing Supplies: Pencils, crayons, markers, and age-appropriate writing paper for developing fine motor skills and early writing activities.
- Mini Pencils ( Easier for small hands to grip)
- Crayons
- Markers
- Writing paper
4. Art Supplies: Construction paper, glue, child-safe scissors, watercolor paints, and other art materials for creative projects. I didn’t not link these items as I usually buy them from the dollar store!
- Less-mess paint ( my son got this for christmas and it’s amazing!)
5. Math Supplies: Hands-on materials for teaching basic math concepts.
6. Educational Games: Educational games that promote learning through play.
- Pattern Blocks
- Games we have are: Chutes & Ladders, Trouble and various card games.
7. Learning Tools:
- Flashcards
- Educational posters. I crafted my version, but stumbled upon a simpler one that caught my attention!
8. Science Materials: Simple science experiment supplies, magnifying glass, and age-appropriate science books.
9. Music and Movement: Musical instruments, CDs or playlists with age-appropriate songs, and space for movement activities.
- Music kit
- We youtube follow along dance videos for kids as well!
10. Organizational Supplies:
- Homeschool Planner
- Storage bins (We have these on a shelf)
- Folders (I get these at the Dollar Store!)
- Utility Rolling Cart (This stands out as my all-time favorite item, set to serve us for years to come)
11. Computer/Tablet: A computer or tablet for accessing online resources or educational apps.
